COLD (Ice, Snow, Windy, Weather, Beverages,...)
is the theme of the Thursday's Challenge of this week.
1 year ago we had in our country a real cold winter with low temperatures until - 20 degrees Celcius ( - 4 degrees Fahrenheit) during the night and between - 5 degrees and -15,2 degrees Celcius ( between 23 and 4,64 degrees Fahrenheit) during daytime.
If that winter lasted 3 weeks longer with these daily tempatures, since 1997 there should be taken a long distance skating event of 200 kilometers (124,27 miles), called "The 11 city skate-event". Only the thickness of ice in those days was not thick enough ( 11 cm / 4,33 inch on average ) to let be skating for a number of 10,000 people at that ice and they cancelled the event.
